Neighborhood Conservation

The Neighborhood Conservation Program is a citizen-based planning and infrastructure improvement program that allows neighborhoods to determine where public funds will be spent. Neighborhood Conservation was established by the County Board in 1964 to encourage the creation of neighborhood improvement plans and to provide dedicated funding to implement those plans. Projects funded through this program include sidewalk, curb and gutter construction, park improvements, traffic calming, street lighting, beautification and neighborhood signs - all of which contribute to the walkability of Arlington's neighborhoods.
